About me:
My name is Maurice Toet and I live in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands. Astronomy has been part of my life since the appearance of comet Hale-Bopp in 1997. I was 16 years old then and acquired a 4.5 inch Newtonian reflector. During that period I came in contact with other enthusiasts at the public astronomical observatory of Rijswijk from whom I have learned a lot.
In 2007, I married my wonderful wife Brenda who has been a great support to me.

My main interest lies in photography of the deep sky, which requires long exposure times under the starry skies. Unfortunately dark skies are becoming scarce, so one has to travel hundreds of miles to enjoy the full splendor of the Milky Way.
