Crop at full resolution in luminance of Gyulbudaghian's Nebula (HH 215); a variable reflection nebula generated by shock waves from the newly formed star PV Cep.
  • Exposure time: LRGB 120:60:60:60 minutes (15 minute sub-exposures for L and 10 minute 3x3 binned sub-exposures for RGB)
  • Processing: Nebulosity 2.3 (pre-processing, registering & DDP); Sigma Beta 10 (stacking RGB); Adobe Photoshop CS4 (post-processing)
  • Lens/telescope: Takahashi FSQ-106ED (4.2") quadruplet ED refractor at f/5
  • Image scale: 2.10 arcseconds per pixel (F = 530 mm at 5.4 micron pixels)
  • Camera: SBIG ST-8300M (T: 0 degrees Celsius) with Astronomik LRGB filters
  • Mount: Astro-Physics Mach1 GTO (guide rate: 1x, PEM activated)
  • Guidescope: TS OAG + SX Lodestar + PHD

Very humid night. To avoid icing of the CCD, the camera was cooled just 10 degrees below ambient temperature.
